Rodrigo Ramírez Rodríguez

Rodrigo Ramírez Rodríguez (b. 1988, Mexico City) is a multidisciplinary artist working across sculpture, painting, installation, and moving image. Situated between sculpture and expanded cinema, his practice constructs immersive environments in which distinctions between body and space, image and matter, gradually dissolve. Alongside his artistic practice, Ramírez is a researcher and educator in film and image theory. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Documentary Film at UNAM, focusing on cinema, materiality, perception, and posthuman thought. His writings have appeared in publications including “Reflexiones Marginales”. Recent solo exhibitions include “Lonely Never Knows Jealousy, Only Despair” (Murmurs, Los Angeles, 2026), “Por Abrasión o Contagio” (Bodega OMR, Mexico City, 2025), and “While Being Plasmic Membrane” (Swivel Gallery, New York, 2025). Selected group exhibitions include “The Sum of Our Parts” (Swivel Gallery, New York, 2024), “NEXUS” (New Image Art, Los Angeles, 2023), “Anteanoche” (Commonwealth and Council, Mexico City, 2023), and “Glóbulo” (Museo Los Pinos, Mexico City, 2023).
